![]() And amidst all that, the characters quickly establish who they are too. You don't get inundated with backstories or names you can just focus on the action. Whole Cake introduces you to Luffy's crew bit by bit, and a good chunk of them are missing until the Wano arc anyway. That way, you get thrown straight into the action and wackiness of One Piece- and if you can make it through the off-model character animation and the overall antics, you're set for the whole show. The secret? Start at the beginning of the Whole Cake Island arc (somewhere around episode 783). I think, in the end, that I found the perfect place to start One Piece without having to watch its sizable backlog (so long as you're still willing to commit to a couple of hundred episodes, of course). After all, there's just so much content, so many filler episodes, so many long and complicated character backstories that it's hard to know if the time and effort is worth it so late in the day.īut I'm here to tell you that it is! I spent so long telling myself that One Piece was just too much of a slog to start in 2023-months of swearing up and down I'd never get into it-until the fateful day that I ended up watching it very much by accident and got absolutely hooked. It's hard to know where to start, or if you should start it at all. Clocking in at well over 1000 episodes, the show is divided into oft-disputed arcs rather than seasons, making keeping track of it all even more difficult. What do you think? The image is a screenshot from Zou arc opening "We Can!" the ONE PACE version. One Piece is perhaps the most daunting anime out there. Especially those who stopped watching the anime or thinking of stopping. I recommend it to those who feel the anime quality falls after the time skip. I don't recommend watching ONE PACE to those new to the series, and those who enjoy the extra scenes in the anime that weren't there in the manga. The difference might not be noticable at first but if you compare it with the original anime you'll see how much it speeds it up. Since I stopped after Dressrosa arc, I began watching ONE PACE starting with Zou arc and I'm enjoying it. You can watch the episode in the project website: ONE PACE As of today some arcs aren't adapted by the project yet, The project focuses more on post time-skip episodes. Instead of numbering the episodes, the project starts treats each arc as its own sub-series. ![]() The episodes of ONE PACE are more faithful to the manga and well paced than the slow anime version, and takes less time from the viewer to watch (usually half the time.) ![]() They do so by removing all the extra scenes, reaction-shots and the padding that the official anime version of ONE PIECE added to fill the 20 minute episode. A fan made project with the goal of creating ONE PIECE anime expereince as close to manga as possible. I stopped watching the anime just after dressrosa arc,Īnd enjoyed ONE PIECE in manga form only since then.īut that changed one day when I heard some fans recommend ONE PACE. By using only one chapter of the source manga each episode feels lacking. ![]() For other anime the average is two or more. ![]() The anime adapts only one Chapter of the manga per Episode. But while the action and story is really good I can't say that about the anime, due to its slow pace. It's one of the best manga I read of all time. ![]()
